Pistol reproduction made of metal and wooden grips with simulated loading and firing mechanism.

The M1911 is a rugged, reliable, easy-to-use direct-blowback semi-automatic pistol powered by a 7-caliber .45 cartridge die stacker. It was developed for military use by John M. Browning, who also designed the matching cartridge for the gun, the .45 ACP.

On March 29, 1911, it was officially accepted as a legal weapon in the US Armed Forces and was initially designated the .45, M1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol. From 1924 the designation was changed to Pistol Auto Caliber .45, M1911A1. In total, the Army acquired about 2.7 million pistols during its service.

It was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. It remained in continuous service with the US Army until 1985, when it was replaced by the Beretta gun. Some variants are still in production and are still active in some units of the Special Forces, Navy Forces and Marine Corps due to their popularity.
